President's Day Weekend Event Looks to Best a Successful First Year That Saw Attendance Reach Nearly 10,000 Visitors and Combined Sales Surpass One Million Dollars
The Hamptons Expo Group announces the return of the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair, February 14-17, 2013, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. An encore to its extremely successful first year event, the fair features 57 top international art galleries exhibiting and selling close to 1,000 carefully-culled works of post-war and contemporary art. With a Valentine's Day Opening Preview Party to benefit the Palm Springs Art Museum, 6 – 9 pm on February 14, 2013, and an entire Presidents Day Weekend program packed with special events, the 2nd annual Palm Springs Fine Art Fair promises to solidify its place as a stop on the winter art fair circuit.
Rick Friedman, President of the Hamptons Expo Group says of the fair's inaugural year, "The fair's presentation of high quality art from prestigious galleries, coupled with world-class production standards created quite a buzz in the desert. We generated a robust turnout of nearly 10,000 people, consisting of wealthy and sophisticated residents and weekenders, art loving snowbirds, the culturally active gay community and the general public. With art sales in the millions, this winter desert resort proved to be the ideal location for a boutique fine art fair. We established it as a fun and well-deserved stop on the international art fair circuit…And there really is no better place to be in America than Palm Springs in mid-February!"
Taking place during Presidents Day weekend and Palm Springs Modernism Week, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair is uniquely situated as a winter epicenter of art. Located just two hours east of Los Angeles, the city is a warm winter cultural oasis, boasting the highly regarded Palm Springs Art Museum, a thriving scene of more than 20 art galleries, not to mention some of the nation's most treasured Modernist architectural gems.
In addition to the exceptional work on view from participating exhibitors, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair will present a series of special events throughout the weekend:
