Gabrielle LaRochelle
Hi, my name is Gabrielle LaRochelle, and i’m always striving to make a positive impact as a freelance journalist, content creator, and world traveler. But above all, I’m a weaver of stories, experiences, and fly looks. I studied at Université de Paris CITE for a year towards a Master’s in History and Civilization and I graduated from The New School in NYC in 2020 with a BA in Journalism + Design & Global Studies, and a minor in Race and Ethnicity. During my undergraduate years, I had the privilege of studying abroad and contributing as a scientific researcher, transcriber, and translator in Indonesia, as well as a documentary researcher in Brazil. I've had the honor of working with amazing organizations like Jhpiego, Friends of National Parks Foundation, and MegaFauna Foundation; I’ve also been a Media Ambassador for NYC's Young Women's Advisory Council. I have contributed to many news companies such as Elle, Vice, NPR, Betches Media, HelloBeautiful, MadameNoire, iOne Digital Media, and more. At the moment, I am using my skills as a Social Media Associate at The Climate Reality Project, coming up with content that educates and progresses society forward to take action concerning environmental issues. When I’m not traveling or educating folks on their contributions to the environment, you can find me relaxing by doing self-care rituals, hiking, creating music. or binging a excellent series on HBO, Hulu, or Apple TV.
