Fourth of July Festivities
July 1—July 4
Celebrate Independence Day in Greater Palm Springs with a variety of events, fireworks, and festivities around the oasis.
Certified Farmers’ Markets
Saturdays (Palm Springs) & Sundays (Palm Desert)
Pick up local produce, herbs, honey, nuts, cheese, fresh flowers and plants at the Certified Farmers’ Markets. Palm Springs hosts the market inside the Palm Springs Pavilion every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Palm Desert hosts the market on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. inside the Westfield Mall near World Gym.
Palm Springs Villagefest
Every Thursday evening in downtown Palm Springs, enjoy a diverse array of artists, artisans, entertainers, assorted fruits, vegetables, fresh flowers, jewelry, international cuisine, and don't forget the sweets. The street is closed to traffic and the event goes from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Coachella Valley Makers Market
Falling on the first Saturday of every month is the Coachella Valley Makers Market. The artisan pop-up shop can be found inside the Westfield Mall on the first level near Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. support small businesses offering fine art, artisan foods, wellness goods, jewelry and clothing.
Beat the heat with a dive-in movie at Palm Desert Aquatic Center. Gates open at 7 p.m. with slides and the splash playground open until 8 p.m. Tickets are $4 per person (children under 2 are free) and can be purchased online or at the event until sold out. Bring a towel or blanket to sit in the grass as poolside seating is limited. No chairs/furniture, food or beverages are allowed however snacks will be available for purchase.
Make a Splash
Dive into summer with a day pass at a resort pool or waterpark. Slide down a waterslide at Wet n’ Wild, or lounge in the lazy river at Omni Rancho Las Palmas' Splashtopia. Looking for a more relaxed vibe? Chill out under a cabana or doze off on a daybed.
Rock Yard Concert Series
July 7—July 28
Rock out this summer to some of the country’s best tribute bands at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino’s outdoor amphitheater-style arena. This month the Rock Yard Concert Series features tribute bands to Rolling Stones, Styx, Rush, Santana and Tom Petty. The shows are free and offer beer and drink specials which are often themed to the bands performing.
Coachella Valley Repertory
The Coachella Valley Repertory is hosting several events this month. On July 8, listen to Leslie Page starring in A Tapestry Through Music. She has sung background vocals for Joe Walsh of The Eagles and shared the stage with an ongoing list of world-class talent including Ringo Star, Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Billy Gibbons, Zack Brown Band, Gary Clark Jr., Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Peaches and Herb, Richard Max and many more.
CVRep Classical Series Presents Tereza Stanislav and Steven Vanhauwaert
Steven Vanhauwaert was hailed by the Los Angeles Times' Mark Swed for his "impressive clarity, sense of structure and monster technique." Since then, he has appeared in solo recitals at the world's leading venues. He is the recipient of the Maurice Lefranc award, the Galiot Prize, and the Grand Prize at the 2004 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition.
CVRep Tuesday Jazz at the Rep presents The Craig Yancey Quartet
For more than 40 years, Craig Yancey has been working as a professional musician and educator. Most recently, he has been selected as Arts Council Menifee’s Artist of the Month for June. Craig has performed and recorded with numerous artists, including Joe Williams, Donna Summer, Wayne Newton, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Kenny Rogers, Marlena Shaw, Clint Holmes, Lou Rawles, Tony Lujan, Lori Andrews, & Clark Terry. Craig’s quartet will include Pianist, Mark Ferguson and a rhythm section including Jeff Olson and Bill Saitta.
Full Moon Party
Celebrate the full moon at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. Enjoy a drum circle as well as dancers and card readers by the pool. There is no audience at the drum circle—everyone is part of the experience. The music is created in the moment and is led by a facilitator who’s focus is to build musicality of the group while also building the sense of community and connection.

Palm Springs Art Museum
Every Thursday this summer the Palm Springs Art Museum is free! Stop by from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. to check out the exhibitions. Eighty @ Eighty is a current one of their exhibitions in honor of this year being the museum's 80th anniversary. Located just a few blocks away, the Architecture and Design Center is also free on Thursdays! Stop by from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to see some of the city's finest architecture and mid-century flair.
2nd Saturday Art Walk on Perez Road
Every 2nd Saturday of the month, Cathedral City’s Art & Design District hosts an art walk displaying special art exhibits, museum quality art and cultural art. Meet like-minded people and get inspired by the creativity as you roam from one gallery to the next. The event is free as always and goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Summer Film Series—”The First Monday in May”
For a free, fun, fashion focused evening, stop by the Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum for an intimate behind-the-scenes view of NYC’s Met Ball, “The Super Bowl of Fashionistas.” Seating is available on a first-come first-serve basis and cocktails are available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. when the film begins.
Friday Flick—"Top Gun”
Surround yourself with vintage airplanes while watching a classic flick on the 18x10 LED screen at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Arrive at 6 p.m. to grab snacks and a seat before the $5 show starts at 6:45 p.m. Enter through south miles hanger (not the museum entrance).

Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage
July 19—August 19
Support local charities this summer and participate in the 3rd Annual Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage. Purchase a $10 wristband at the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce or at one of the participating local charities. The wristband allows you to take advantage of great deals such as $4 cocktails, appetizers and desserts offered by participating restaurants and resorts.
