You’ve booked your Modernism Week tours and the perfect stay, but where will you eat in-between the modernism madness? Here’s a guide to eating and drinking while you’re in town, including parties, events, and midcentury modern-inspired restaurants.
Start with Poolside Drinks
If you want to truly transport yourself into the Modernism Week vibes while you’re in Greater Palm Springs, choose a place to stay through ACME House Co. They have a curated portfolio of beautifully maintained privately owned residences, many of which are midcentury modern or modern-inspired homes. This also allows you to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine poolside.
Dine with Midcentury Vibes
Strapped for time? Head to Koffi for a quick caffeine kick and grab a delicious bite to go before starting your Modernism Week activities.
Tip: Snap a photo of your coffee in front of the sign and cute cacti out front. Insta-worthy!
Reservoir at ARRIVE Palm Springs
For one of your less booked up days, start your day off slowly and head over to Reservoir at Arrive Hotel for a full brunch spread. From tasty sweet and savory toasts, to a traditional egg and bacon breakfast, to pancakes or French toast - everyone will find something on the menu. Their décor and ambiance are definitely midcentury modern-inspired. Just look around!
Copley’s on Palm Canyon
Looking to hang out on the best patio in Greater Palm Springs? Head to Copley’s for a delicious dinner and bottle of wine in the same place where Cary Grant’s guesthouse stood.
Holiday House, a newly renovated boutique hotel originally from 1951, was reimagined by the people behind the Sparrows Lodge. Aside from the delicious continental breakfast they provide to guests, they also put on family-style dinners called Fried Chicken Fridays, which have been steadily getting rave reviews. Reservations recommended!
Dubbed “a shrine to good wine,” Counter Reformation at The Parker Palm Springs boasts an interior designed by Jonathan Adler. The long bar is the perfect perch while enjoying an exquisitely curated wine and tapas menu. The vibe is that of a pintxos bar you might wander into off a street in San Sebastian, Spain. If you want more midcentury modern vibes for photos, check out the lobby you walk through to get to Counter Reformation.
The Landing Bar and Lounge
The Landing Bar and Lounge at The Riviera is prime content for your midcentury modern-inspired photoshoot. Grab a cocktail and kick back on a green upholstered chair with palm print accent pillows.
Tip: Head up the stairs from the front lobby to explore a few more photo-worthy nooks like the one pictured above!
