On November 19, 2020, the State of California mandated a limited stay at home order requiring generally that non-essential work and gatherings stop between 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. in counties in the purple tier. The order will take effect at 10 p.m. Saturday, November 21 and remain in effect until 5 a.m. December 21. Click here to learn more.
On July 13, 2020, the State of California mandated that the following industries close their indoor operations in Riverside County in addition to those mandated on July 1: fitness centers, worship services, protests, offices for non-essential sectors, personal care services, like nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors, hair salons and barbershops and malls. On July 1, 2020, the State of California mandated that following industries close their indoor operations in Riverside County: restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, zoos, museums, and card rooms. On June 18, 2020, the State of California mandated that face coverings must be worn in common and public indoor spaces and outdoors when distancing is not possible. Learn more about the guidance and limited exceptions HERE.
On June 12, 2020, the State of California allowed the reopening of new sectors including hotels to tourism, family entertainment, gyms and bars. Riverside County has issued guidance for those industries to be followed along with the state guidance.

On May 22, 2020, the California Department of Public Health approved the county’s request to reopen more businesses as part of accelerated phase two. This included retail stores, shopping malls, swap meets, dine-in restaurants, and schools with modifications. Click here to read full News Release
On May 9, 2020, the Health Officer for the County of Riverside issued and order rescinding the previous public health orders related to short term lodging facilities, golf course restrictions, and use of facial coverings and practice of social distancing to align with the State’s orders as they now exist. On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued an order all residents of the state of California to stay at home or their place of residence to protect public health.
