DINING IN GREATER PALM SPRINGS

From charming cafes lining downtown Palm Springs and tiny taco joints and panaderías in Coachella to fine dining restaurants along El Paseo, the tastes and flavors of Greater Palm Springs are as varied as the nine cities that make up this Southern California oasis. The destination’s rich agricultural bounty and world-class resorts draw the most innovative chefs from around the globe, who specialize in fresh, farm-to-table fare and serve creative twists on American classics. Even our coffee shops brew organic, specialty drinks that elevate coffee-pouring to an art.

Several food festivals, including Indio International Tamale FestivalPalm Desert Food & Wine and Props & Hops Craft Beer Festival, showcase our culinary oasis, drawing epicureans for days of dining and tastings. Each June, Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week encourages diners to explore new dishes and share great meal moments at more than 100 participating restaurants.

Many visitors make a weekend out of attending one of these signature foodie experiences: Tee off at one of our 100 golf courses or hike through beautiful mountain backcountry all before brunch. (We recommend hitting up one of these spots.) Then spend the afternoon soaking up some sun poolside or shopping for vintage finds until it’s time for happy hour—even though every hour is happy hour in Greater Palm Springs.
