Donations to the Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation will support scholarships for the following educational opportunities within the tourism and hospitality field.
Greater Palm Springs Certified Tourism Ambassador™ (CTA) Program
The Greater Palm Springs Tourism Ambassador Program serves to increase tourism by inspiring and empowering front-line hospitality employees to train as an industry-recognized Certified Tourism Ambassador™ (CTA), thus helping to turn every visitor encounter into a positive experience. The CTA program teaches the importance of tourism, as well as facts about the Greater Palm Springs destination while offering ongoing learning and networking opportunities. Those achieving the CTA designation are required to participate in continuing education activities for annual re-certification. Employees can apply for CTA scholarships, as can small businesses who wish to help their employees complete the CTA program.
CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Hospitality Management Certificate Program
The Palm Desert Campus of California State University, San Bernardino offers a Certificate in Hospitality Management. The six-week online program comprising seven modules features a combination of core fundamentals geared to management and marketing, as well as coursework in hospitality operations. College of the Desert (COD) Hospitality Management Program
College of the Desert’s comprehensive Hospitality Management Program is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or for immediate employment in the tourism and hospitality industry. Students can obtain a Certificate in Achievement in Hospitality Management, an Associate of Science (AS) in Hospitality Management for employment preparation, and an Associate of Science (AS) in Hospitality Management for transfer preparation. The broad curriculum includes course offerings in accounting, hospitality operations, general business management, and office technology.
