Coachella Valley History Museum
Coachella Valley History Museum
Stroll through the Coachella Valley History Museum in Indio and there are whispers of the past everywhere. The adobe structure was built in 1926 by Dr. Harry W. Smiley and his wife and served both as their home and medical practice. The museum is filled with unique artifacts from farm equipment, and a water tower, to the original 1909 Indio Schoolhouse. Also, on site, the world’s only date museum. Follow Wander List host Anndee Laskoe as she explores this collection of the desert’s vibrant history. Learn about the stories of the area’s first inhabitants, the Cahuilla and Mission Indians, and of the pioneers who worked to make the Coachella Valley what it is today.
