PSAs and additional community resources are available at visitgreaterpalmsprings.com

Rancho Mirage, CA—April 13, 2020—The Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is partnering with local agencies in the Coachella Valley to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Outreach initiatives include several public service announcements for health and safety guidelines, a relief fund for local hospitality workers, and inspiring stories of strength throughout the nine resort cities. Additional resources, including online activities while sheltering at home, can be accessed at visitgreaterpalmsprings.com.

“During these challenging times, it’s important to stay connected while we continue to practice social distancing,” said Scott White, president & CEO. “One of the ways we’re working with our government, nonprofit and business partners is to inform the community about all the resources available. From health reminders to keep us safe to charitable organizations supporting our local workforce facing economic hardship, these PSAs send a powerful message that we are all greater together and play a part in the road to recovery.”

Stay In Place, Maintain Your Space, Cover Your Face
A 30-second PSA, in partnership with the Riverside County Public Health Department, reinforces health and safety measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The Stay In Place, Maintain Your Space, Cover Your Face PSA was released this week on the heels of the countywide mandate to cover faces with a homemade mask while out in public places. The PSA can be viewed in both English and Spanish.

Hospitality Workforce Relief Fund
The Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation is highlighting efforts in a 30-second PSA  to support local workers in the hospitality industry experiencing job loss or reduction of hours as a result of the coronavirus. All donations will provide economic relief to families who depend on work in the tourism industry for their livelihood. Funds will be distributed by local nonprofits Lift to Rise and United Way of the Desert through the Coachella Valley Economic Protection Plan and Support Fund. Go to GPShospitalityfund.org to make a financial contribution.

We Are Greater Together
From hospitality workers and shop keepers to first responders and grocery clerks, the We Are Greater Together PSA is an uplifting reminder of the role that everyone plays in working to keep each other safe and well.

Volunteer Opportunities
From donating blood or emergency supplies to sewing homemade face masks, there are a number of ways to help local nonprofit organizations aid low-income families with these volunteer opportunities.
