Greater Palm Springs, CA (February 27, 2017) — What do you get when you ask two multi Grammy Award-winning songwriters to write a song about Greater Palm Springs? A terrific tune that perfectly captures the essence and experiences of this “one-of-a-kind Oasis.”
The song, “Chasin’ My Troubles Away” was inspired after Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Scott White attended the 2015 Songwriter’s Night in Palm Desert. The event is held annually during the Patrick Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament. “I was really impressed with Songwriter’s Night and the caliber of talent in the room. And I thought wouldn’t it be great if one of the songwriters created a song about our destination.” The idea was set forth and top songwriters Tim Nichols and Chris Stevens met the challenge writing “Chasin’ My Troubles Away.” The song debuted in 2016.
“Chasin’ My Troubles Away” featuring Chris Stevens on vocals is now available for download on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and iHeart for 99 cents. All proceeds from each digital site download will be contributed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its goal of finding cures for pediatric illnesses.
