GREATER PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 14, 2026) Visit Greater Palm Springs has partnered with Wheel the World, a leading accessible travel platform, to become an Accessibility Verified Destination, giving travelers access to detailed, verified information about accessibility at participating hotels, restaurants, attractions and experiences throughout Greater Palm Springs.
As part of the partnership, trained Wheel the World mappers conducted on-site assessments at participating businesses, documenting more than 200 accessibility criteria, including step-free access, accessible parking, bathroom features, room configurations and other details that can be important when planning a trip.
According to Wheel the World, one in six people worldwide live with a disability. In the U.S. alone, 15 million travelers with disabilities take more than 40 million trips annually, contributing $120 billion in travel spending. By making verified accessibility information readily available, Wheel the World helps travelers plan with greater confidence while helping destinations better welcome a growing market of travelers with disabilities and older adults and support their local tourism economies.

The Accessibility Verified designation builds on Visit Greater Palm Springs’ ongoing destination stewardship efforts to create a more welcoming and inclusive visitor experience. Greater Palm Springs is also a Certified Autism Destination, reflecting continued work with local tourism and hospitality partners to help travelers of varying abilities and needs experience the destination.
