From vintage-themed festivals to Pacific Standard Time’s new LA/LA collaboration, Greater Palm Springs is a must-visit for any art aficionado.

Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, September 2017 – January 2018

Pacific Standard Time is an unprecedented collaboration of arts institutions across Southern California, and its latest initiative, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, will include Latin American and Latino exhibits and installations at three Greater Palm Springs culture institutions:

  • Palm Springs Art Museum: Kinesthesia: Latin American Kinetic Art, 1954-1969, August 26, 2017 – January 15, 2018
  • Palm Springs Architecture + Design Center: Albert Frey and Bo Bardi: A Search for Living Architecture, September 9, 2017 – January 7, 2018
  • Sunnylands: Carved Narrative: Los Hermanos Chavez Morado, September 14, 2017 – May 30, 2018

VintageVibe Festival, October 20 – 22, 2017

A celebration of the evolution of American style and pop culture from midcentury modernism through the 1990s, VintageVibe Festival will offer a 60,000-square-foot marketplace with a vast array of nostalgic items and experiences, including memorabilia, art, goods and fashion. In addition to vendors featuring both vintage and new items, the festival will also include live musical performances at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Nightly musical performances will be headlined by acclaimed artists such as Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Best Coast and The Cactus Blossoms, while the kickoff pool party at The Saguaro Palm Springs will feature ‘80s tribute band The Flux Capacitors. 

STREET, November 3, 2017

Now in its third year, Street is an annual rooftop festival that celebrates street art, music, food and fashion. The free evening event features live mural painting and spray painting, as well as interactive sculptures and additional arts and crafts. Two stages present DJs and live bands performing ska, reggae and hip hop.

Palm Springs International Animation Festival, November 9 – 11, 2017

The inaugural Palm Springs International Animation Festival celebrates the art of animation with three days of screenings. More than 150 titles, ranging from shorts to features, will be screened of the 2000+ entries from 92 countries. The festival will feature award-winning films and a variety of styles, including 2D, 3D, hand-drawn, watercolor and stop-motion.
