The community tournament tees off May 20 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa

Rancho Mirage, California (May 4, 2021): On May 20, the Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation will hold a fundraiser golf tournament at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa to continue its mission to provide scholarship opportunities for local students and other programming in the hospitality, convention and tourism industries. In 2020, working with OneFuture Coachella Valley, the Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation was able to provide 16 scholarships for well-deserving students in the Coachella Valley.

“The hospitality and tourism industries are incredibly important to Greater Palm Springs and we are looking forward to continuing to help increase and support the hospitality workforce through scholarships and continued education,,” said Greater Palm Springs CVB President and CEO Scott White, “We’re proud to be able to support our local students while also offering an exciting opportunity for the community to rally together and experience the destination’s incredible golf offerings.”

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1p.m., followed by an evening reception at 6 p.m. at the Desert Springs’ new Entertainment Zone and featuring music, food and beverages and games. This event is open to nongolfers to provide encouragement to players in the Heckler’s Arena adjacent to the 18th hole. They may also attend the evening reception. For those interested in participating in the tournament or evening reception, please register here.

Home to more than 100 golf courses, Greater Palm Springs is the ideal golfing destination for business and leisure travelers alike, offering everything from beginner courses to championship facilities.
