World Golf Hall of Famer and two-time event champion Phil Mickelson to host

(Greater Palm Springs, CA) – January 9, 2020 – Greater Palm Springs’ long-standing PGA Tour event returns January 15–19, 2020 with a top-ranked player field, and fantastic fan experiences, including concert performances from Stevie Nicks and Luke Bryan.

Now known as The American Express when the global credit card company signed on as a multi-year title sponsor last fall, the tournament and its pro-am feature will again be played across the tri-course rota of the Stadium and Nicklaus Tournament Courses at PGA West, along with historic La Quinta Country Club.

In addition to Mickelson, the elite player field includes defending champion Adam Long, top-ranked PGA Tour players and 2018 Ryder Cup competitors Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Francesco Molinari and rising star Matthew Wolff.

Outstanding fan experiences and prime viewing vantages abound. At host site PGA West Stadium Course, the Michelob Ultra Beers Fore Birdie venue returns adjacent to the 16th green and 17th tee box. Set behind the world-renowned “Alcatraz” island green on 17, the popular Casamigos Club 17 is back in play for all ticket holders, offering a premier viewing perch at one of the most famed par 3s in the world. At the Stadium’s home hole, the massive Albertsons VONS Pavilions Club 18 offers a sprawling party setting to drink, dine, and couple live tournament viewing with the NFL playoffs on multiple televisions.

For service members, the Military Outpost feature behind the 18th green provides complimentary food and refreshments to all active duty, reserve, retired, first responders and military veterans. New to the scene for 2020 is the Corona Premier Par-Tee Lounge, located on the 1st tee/9th green, providing enhanced opportunity to enjoy the world-class golf and scenery with even more snack and drink options.

Since Lagardere Sports took over running the event in 2017, the post-round weekend concert series has become an event staple. This year’s headliners are rock legend Stevie Nicks on Friday, January 17, and country music star Luke Bryan on Saturday, January 18. Attendance to the concerts is free with a general admission ticket.
