Scholarships available for College of the Desert PaCE Leadership Essentials training beginning September 17
GREATER PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 22, 2026) TEAM GPS Foundation is helping develop the Coachella Valley's next generation of leaders by providing scholarships for local professionals to participate in leadership training. Offered through College of the Desert's Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) program, scholarships provided by TEAM GPS Foundation help make the program accessible to local employees and employers looking to invest in their workforce.
The Leadership Essentials series is designed for new and emerging leaders looking to strengthen the skills needed to lead teams, manage workplace challenges and grow professionally. The series began in September 17 and continues through October.
"Developing strong leaders is an important part of building a strong local workforce," said Lauren Bruggemans, Executive Director of the TEAM GPS Foundation. "We want people who are early in their leadership journey to have opportunities to grow their skills right here in the Coachella Valley. By investing in our local talent, we can help people advance in their careers while helping employers develop and retain great employees."

Training topics include employee engagement, essential principles of leadership, values and ethics, emotional intelligence, authentic leadership and navigating the challenges of leadership. Participants learn practical skills they can bring back to their workplaces, including coaching and delegation, managing change, building stronger relationships, navigating difficult conversations and setting goals for continued growth.
The first workshop, Leadership Essentials: Employee Engagement, took place September 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at College of the Desert PaCE. Additional workshops continue through October 6, with Project Management Fundamentals offered October 8.
The scholarships are part of TEAM GPS Foundation's broader commitment to strengthening the Coachella Valley workforce by connecting local residents with education, professional development, leadership training and career pathways.
Employers are also encouraged to identify emerging leaders within their organizations who could benefit from the training and scholarship opportunity.
