(Greater Palm Springs, CA) — Nov. 14, 2017 — Come cheer on high school basketball athletes destined for greatness during the annual Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational, set to return to Greater Palm Springs December 26-30, 2017. Now in its 16th year, the five-day event, which draws approximately 7,000 attendees, will host 80 top high school basketball teams. This year’s tournament will have teams participating from throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Texas, Canada and Germany.

“The Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitation has been a fantastic event to watch highly competitive high school basketball,” said Rob Hanmer, co-director of the tournament and the head men’s basketball coach at Rancho Mirage High School.

The top-talent teams will compete on courts at a number of high schools throughout Greater Palm Springs. In addition to the basketball championships, the festivities include the ever-popular dunk contest. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all games and participate in the dunk contest.

Highlights of the tournament are as follows:

  • Dec. 28: Dunk contest and Open Division Quarter Finals
  • Dec. 29: Open Division Semi-Finals
  • Dec. 30: Open Division Finals
