More flights, more often and new non-stop destinations for 2018-2019
Portland, Atlanta, Chicago, New Jersey and Canada launch new flight service into Greater Palm Springs this winter, with more cities launching early or increased service into early 2019
(Greater Palm Springs, CA) – September 4, 2018 – Greater Palm Springs is expecting a record-breaking number of flights this winter, thanks to new airlines servicing Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), new non-stop destinations, increased service and longer service periods.
Travelers have more options than ever to visit Greater Palm Springs for Christmas and New Year's, with over 51 daily flights into PSP from Dec. 20, 2018 to Jan. 6, 2019 – a 19% increase from last year.
The move signals increased confidence from airlines that travelers are choosing Greater Palm Springs as their top getaway, especially with more hotels, restaurants and events on the horizon.
“The number of passengers flying to and from Palm Springs International Airport has been steadily increasing over the past few years11 – we’re thankful to and working closely with our airline partners to respond to that demand,” said Scott White, CEO of the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau. “An earlier start to seasonal air service benefits our residents, leisure and business travelers, and the local economy.”
Currently, 11 airlines fly nonstop from PSP to 20 destinations, connecting to more than 500 destinations worldwide. Since 2012, PSP has seen a 38% increase in seat capacity.
