During World War II, artists created thousands of insignias for the military members to represent their individual ships, bomb groups, squadrons, battalions, and units. The private collection of WWII Insignia Art is being shared for a limited time at the Palm Springs Air Museum, now through June 5, 2018.
Modernism Week has partnered with the American Documentary Film Festival (AmDocs) to create a new Architecture and Design Film Series to be offered for the first time.The inaugural Architecture and Design Film Series will be held February 23 – February 25, 2018 and will feature 26 films, documentaries and short films.
Palm Springs Speaks will present Dan Savage, acclaimed mystery writer, Lisa Scottoline, and New York Times best-selling author and expert in alternative medicine, Deepak Chopra, M.D. as part of their inaugural speaker series in Greater Palm Springs. The series is a collaboration between the Palm Springs Cultural Center and Friends of the Palm Springs Library.
This exhibition celebrates the women, past and present, who braved the heat and dust in the forlorn desert outpost of the Coachella Valley in pursuit of a better life. The exhibit is available now through December 2018.

The Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service have created a free, educational app to get youth active, engaged and learning about the world around them. The kids and scouts will assume the exciting role of a Secret Agent on a Mission as they gain new insights into the natural world.
The Desert Exhibition of Art is set to return to Greater Palm springs and open next year on February 9 through April 2019.
The new 5.8-acre cultural center will feature an envisioned Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, a new Agua Caliente Spa and Bathhouse, a Gathering Plaza, gardens and an Oasis Trail. Opening date in late 2019.
CareerBuilder Challenge Golf Tournament- New additions
Huey Lewis and The News and the Goo Goo Dolls are set to headline live concerts at this PGA tournament.The event will take place January 15-21, 2018.
Modernism Week- New additions
New events include the first-ever Modernism Week Showcase Home - Moroccan Modern, a tour of the Raymond Loewy house, a Modernism Fashion Show ("Spanning the Decades”), a Palm Desert Signature Home Tour, and a collaboration with the American Documentary Film Festival to produce a new Architecture Design Art Film series.Modernism week will take place on February 15-25, 2018.
Art Palm Springs - New addition
Art Palm Springs will present nearly 80 galleries from Asia, North and South America, and Europe, which represent more than 300 artists, and brings a world of art to the Palm Springs Convention Center.This year, a fourth day has been added to the event.
Rancho Mirage Food & Wine Festival- New event
The inaugural Rancho Mirage Wine and Food Festival will take place at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater and Community Park on Feb 17, 2018.
Oracle Challenger Series- New event
This year, BNP Paribas has added a brand-new Oracle Challenger Series, ahead of the 2018 BNP Paribas Open. The Series consists of two ATP Challenger Tour events. The first will be at Newport Beach Tennis Club (January 20-28, 2018) and the second will be at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden (February 24 – March 4, 2018).
BNP Paribas 2018- New additions
The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is undergoing a full-scale beautification project ahead of the 2018 BNP Paribas Open to showcase the venue in “Full Bloom.” Also new for the 2018 event is local favorite Wally’s Desert Turtle, replacing Chop House in Stadium 2.
Rhythm, Wine and Brews Experience - New additions
The 2018 lineup features grunge headliner Stone Temple Pilots as well as The Psychedelic Furs, She Wants Revenge and more. The event will take place March 3, 2018.
Indian Wells Music Festival- New event
The Indian Wells Music Festival will debut at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on April 6-7, 2018.
Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival: Weekend- New additions
This year, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Eminem will be headlining the festival, which takes place on April 13-15 and April 20-22, 2018.
Stagecoach Country Music Festival- New additions
The headliners will be Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, and Florida Georgia Line. The festival will take place on April 27-29, 2018.
CONTACT in the Desert- New event
The who’s who of ufology will descend into Indian Wells, CA for CONTACT, a conference that delves into all things extraterrestrial from top-secret government space programs to abductions. This year will be the first year the conference will be held in Greater Palm Springs on June 1-4, 2018.
The inaugural event is set to take place on Sunday, December 9, 2018 with general registration opening January 18, 2018. This new event will be co-hosted by the cities of Indian Wells and La Quinta.
