What is the “Meet the Mentors” Program?
A panel of Visit Greater Palm Springs judges will select a handful of “junior journalists” for this mentorship program. Selected participants will be notified by January 22, 2027.
Each participant will be paired with an experienced travel journalist for a trip to Greater Palm Springs, learning the ins and outs of travel journalism—from asking the right questions to pitching an editor—while exploring the destination’s nine desert cities.
Each pair will follow a personalized itinerary built around key Greater Palm Springs experiences, including culinary, wellness, outdoor adventure, sustainability, arts and culture, and diverse businesses. Flights, accommodations, and experiences are covered.
After the trip, participants will work with their mentor to write an article inspired by their experience, to be published on the Visit Greater Palm Springs website.
To apply, you must:
- Submit your application by midnight (PST) on Monday, January 4, 2027. Finalists will be invited to a brief Zoom interview before final selections are made.
