Free Online Class Available to all Coachella Valley Residents

(GREATER PALM SPRINGS, CA) Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS) is pleased to announce it has now made its popular in-person TEAM GPS Champion class available online to anyone in the Coachella Valley. The TEAM GPS Champion training is brought to you by Visit Greater Palm Springs and is in partnership with College of the Desert’s Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) program.

The TEAM GPS Champion training was designed to build knowledge and enthusiasm for our unique nine-city destination. For those already in the hospitality industry, this class provides helpful tools and resources to create memorable guest interactions and enhance the visitor experience. The two-hour, self-paced training helps participants gain a stronger understanding of the importance of tourism and hospitality in our local economy. This training also unites the tourism and hospitality workforce while creating an equitable environment for everyone to participate in the growth of the tourism economy.

“We’re excited to expand our TEAM GPS Champion in-person training to be self-paced and fully online with the goal of making this opportunity accessible to all Coachella Valley residents,” said Lauren Bruggemans, Director of Sustainability & Community Engagement for Visit Greater Palm Springs. “We look forward to sharing information that will help participants feel they have a vital role in the thriving tourism economy of the Coachella Valley.”

Participants who complete the curriculum will gain more knowledge about what the Greater Palm Springs destination has to offer, including hidden gems, signature events and unique local businesses. Additionally, participants receive ongoing education through regular newsletters, access to exclusive networking events and sneak previews of new attractions and tours. This training is provided free of charge to anyone in the Coachella Valley through a full scholarship funded by Visit Greater Palm Springs’ nonprofit arm, the Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation.
