This oasis of art is the perfect blend of creativity, music, and culture, providing an inspiring backdrop and welcoming community where everyone can express themselves — in whatever art form that may be. Meet some of the talented artists who are making their mark on the destination.

Shag

Josh Agle (also known as “Shag”) is a Palm Springs-based painter, designer, and illustrator. Drawing from real experiences in Palm Springs, his distinctive style is imbued with an attitude and sly sense of humor, unmistakable of our time. Shag’s work can be defined by clean, modern, and narrative-based paintings recalling the idealized days of the 1950s. And fittingly, these often depict a broad range of themes, including architecture, tiki culture, cocktails, and eclectic people living lavish lifestyles. His commercial vintage-feel paintings have inspired many travelers to visit Greater Palm Springs.

Tysen Knight

Tysen Knight

Tysen Knight’s unique style blends fine art, street art, and pop art to create his aptly named “pop urban art.” Inspired by his surroundings, he often uses the destination as his canvas painting many known murals throughout Palm Canyon. He finds his muse in giving back to the community and inspiring the next generation of artists. On the streets or in galleries, Knight's work always stands out, bursting with a striking cascade of colors.

Ryan Campbell

Ryan Campbell is an accomplished painter and muralist whose artistic style is rooted in the graffiti culture of the early 1990s and 2000s. Referring to his practice as investigations in geometric abstraction, minimalism, and hard-edge painting, Campbell routinely draws inspiration, as well as a sense of healing, from the place he both works and lives: Palm Springs. "so much of the landscape draws the feeling of where my work can go,” he shares. “Light and shadow suddenly became alive. Art became more than a profession; it became a source of healing."

Barbara Gothard is a digital and fine artist whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States and France. Gothard is often inspired by life's obstacles and contradictions, as well as Greater Palm Springs; she frequently draws from the "soft, malleable, and metamorphic environment, surrounded by majestic mountains awash in brilliant colors" to help her paintings come to life.

Aneka Brown

Adam Enrique Rodriguez

Adam Enrique Rodriguez

Born and raised in Indio, California, Adam Enrique Rodriguez has quickly become one of California's most emerging artists. While his work frequently focuses on reflecting the many aspects of the human condition, he regularly finds inspiration from the landscape that surrounds him. A collision course between calm and chaos, Rodriguez's bold style blends a love for humanity and nature alike. "The busyness of life can hold us all hostage,” he says, “but allowing yourself to escape to a place like [Greater Palm Springs] could provide the healing you didn't even know you needed.”

Bella Da Ball

Bella Da Ball is more than a Palm Springs socialite; she’s one of the most active and recognizable social ambassadors the destination has ever seen. Widely celebrated for being the quintessential emcee, Da Ball inspires a sense of community using the time-honored art form of drag and is a strong supporter of the local LGBTQ+ community. She makes it a point to invite visitors to “feel welcomed, to be inspired, and to be themselves!”
