TRAVEL INDUSTRY SALES
Travel Industry Sales hosted the California Cup April 29 - May 3. The invitation-only event attracted 56 senior-level decision makers in nine top international markets. Participants represented international wholesale tour operators, retail travel agencies, receptive tour operations, airlines and travel media.
Our international offices also conducted several training events and coordinated meetings with key clients to promote Greater Palm Springs and initiate specific marketing strategies.
Travel Industry Sales was also busy hosting additional clients in the destination, attending a local client event and conducting sales calls in the California beach cities.

The CVB attended the monthly Desert PROST luncheon at Vue Grille & Bar at Indian Wells Golf Resort. The Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau traveled to Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties to conduct AAA sales calls training 65 Branch Managers and top travel agents promoting Greater Palm Springs. Office visits included those in Encino, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Lompoc and San Luis Obispo.VC Korea & Japan Sales Mission | United States
The CVB participated in Visit California’s 2019 Korea & Japan Sales Mission. The mission was designed to provide California destinations, hotels, attractions and retail partners the opportunity to network with key contacts in these markets including tour operators, travel agents and media.So Cal Top Performers FAM | United States
The CVB hosted 10 top performers from Los Angeles to experience the destination with a signature event. Agents participated in outdoor experiences, health and wellness offerings, and a day at Stagecoach. Partner participation included Ace Transportation, Hotel Paseo, Sands Hotel & Spa, The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, Lavender Bistro, Avalon Hotel & Bungalows, Smoke Tree Stables, La Serena Villas, PS Mod Squad, Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs, Eight4Nine Restaurant, BMW Performance Center West, Sunnylands, AC3 Restaurant+Bar, Goldenvoice and Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa.Black Diamond Meetings and Trainings | United Kingdom
The CVB office in the United Kingdom had meetings and trainings with 120 agents. Companies included Abercrombie & Kent, Flight Centre, Aspire, Discover North America, Elegant Resorts, Hayes & Jarvis, Hyatt Hotels, Not Just Travel, Norwegian, Tour America, Travel Bulletin and Vacation to America. The UK office also attended TTR Industry Roadshow in Ireland. Discussions included updates on Greater Palm Springs and marketing.Gate 7 Meetings and Trainings | Australia
The CVB’s office in Australia had meetings and trainings with 18 travel managers. Companies included Men's Health, Pacific Magazines, American Airlines, Qantas Holidays, Delta Airlines and American Express. Discussions included updates on the destination and marketing opportunities.Aviareps Meetings and Trainings | China
The CVB's office in China met with 105 travel representatives from Brand USA, Ctrip and America International Services. Representatives consisted of wholesalers, OTA's, meeting planners and tailor-made tour operators. Discussions and training focused on outdoor activities, luxury hotels and videos on GPS.MSI Meetings and Trainings | Germany
The CVB’s office in Germany had meetings with 14 managers from key accounts: America Unlimited, CAN USA, Faszination Fernweh, CRD, DER Touristik, Fairflight, VUSA and FTI. Discussions included updates on the destination and marketing.MNo Meetings and Trainings | France
The CVB’s office in France had trainings and meetings with 17 managers from various companies, such as Marco Vasco, TUI, Secrets de Voyage and Amplitudes. Discussions included updates on Greater Palm Springs and marketing with a focus on luxury travel.
