With attention primarily focused on the domestic market in 2021, the Communications team surpassed its media target for the year, achieving a PR quality score of more than 6,000 with 979 pieces of earned media content. The team hosted 110 media in market and saw the return of international media into the destination in the fourth quarter. 

Top 5 Communications Highlights

  • Live with Kelly & Ryan(3.2 million viewers; ad value of $16.8 million) showcased the destination with a dedicated Palm Springs episode during the final day of the weeklong Live’s Virtual Road Trip. The showcased locations through Greater Palm Springs. 
  • Re-engaged agencies in United Kingdom/Ireland and German markets
  • Hosted first-ever photographer group press trip including editors from Real Simple and Travel + Leisure
  • Hosted Tastemade in partnership with Splash House. The coverage resulted in over 3.7M impressions across Instagram and Facebook
  • With the return of in-person meetings, conducted 49 one-on-one media appointments between the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) Convention and IPW Las Vegas.
